Location: Loire, France
Overlooking a valley, this XIX century farmhouse and adjoining barn is surrounded by a landscape made of fields and forests.
The project consists of using the remaining granite walls of the barn to build a family home.
The concept is to enjoy the surrounding presence of nature while being inside. This is achieved with a panoramic view
from the living room nested on top of the existing stone wall.
The odd angular shape of the existing wall has been kept, giving a unique aspect to the house.
The wood cladding set vertically along the new fašade
visually responds to the surrounding forest.
